My sincere congratulations to both Mr. Rob McCarthy, Ward 2 and Mrs Jennifer Spadafora, Ward 3 on their recent election to the Malden School Committee, I look forward to working with you as the school committee strives to provide all of the students in the Malden Public Schools with the best educational opportunities possible. There are several important items that we will be working on. We have to be vigilant constantly in order to maintain our strong curriculum; we will continue negotiate fair and equitable collective bargaining agreements, while being ever mindful that we have to be good stewards of the taxpayers of Malden.; additionally, we will begin discussing the work of establishing a budget for the next fiscal year. That conversation will get underway before the Christmas holiday season.

I want to express my personal thanks to Mr. Emmanuel Marsh, and Mr. Jerry Leone of Wards 2 and 6 respectively for their hard work and dedication in performing their duty. They carried out their responsibilities in an exemplary fashion standing tall in the face at times of some strong opposition. I wish both of my outgoing colleagues the best of luck. Do not give up on public service, your voices are needed.

Once again to Rob McCarthy and to Jennifer Spadafora, I look forward to working with you for the 2017-2018 school year and beyond..
